Well how much fun was that?
we started in groups and had 3 different work stations, allowing the children time to explore a variety of techniques. the first was using pen and wash, the second charcoal ( it got very messy!!) and the last one was drawing with long sticks dipped in coffee and raspberry tea.
Once the techniques had been tried and tested the challenge was to produce a final exhibition piece for a competition incorporating all the techniques and this resulted in a competition.
I chose 6 finalists and then asked a couple of parents to judge a first, second and third place.
It created a lot of excitement and a real buzz, working to the deadline enabled the kids to push themselves and the results from all were amazing and the improvement over the 3 hours was imense.
I was so proud of all of them as it was a difficult programme and they all achieved.
On Saturday I shall be doing an abstract painting workshop for adults.
