Children's Drawing Workshop

Well how much fun was that?
we started in groups and had 3 different work stations, allowing the children time to explore a variety of techniques. the first was using pen and wash, the second charcoal ( it got very messy!!) and the last one was drawing with long sticks dipped in coffee and raspberry tea.
Once the techniques had been tried and tested the challenge was to produce a final exhibition piece for a competition incorporating all the techniques and this resulted in a competition.
I chose 6 finalists and then asked a couple of parents to judge a first, second and third place.
It created a lot of excitement and a real buzz, working to the deadline enabled the kids to push themselves and the results from all were amazing and the improvement over the 3 hours was imense.
I was so proud of all of them as it was a difficult programme and they all achieved.

On Saturday I shall be doing an abstract painting workshop for adults.

Tuesday 6th May

A long awaited update, it has been such a busy time and its now time for me to share with you all the fabulous photos and things that have been happening.

Sunday 23rd March:

GRAB A GROWN UP SCULPTURE WORKSHOP

The first family friendly workshop where the children were asked to bring a grown up along and together they worked as a team to produce the most amazing sculptures, based on the paintings of Sarah Graham.
We got extremely messy with Chicken wire , newspaper and mod rock. Whilst this was drying we used enormous pieces of paper to act as wrappers for our " Chupa Chups" style lollipops and painted them with newly invented flavours and bright eye catching designs.

All together there were 13 teams of kids plus an adult and it was a truly fabulous atmosphere every one joined in and had fun and the outcome was brilliant.
I will be doing more family workshops, one in September so if you fancy coming along look out for the details on here or contact me and please do so quickly as you can as the last one was fully booked in 3 days!!!!!!

Monday 16th December

Well its a busy old time, trying to get ready for Christmas, most of it is done now thankfully!
The children's art classes have been well received and I am looking forward to seeing everyone and having loads of festive fun, enjoying getting messy and creating small masterpieces.
I have been creating myself, doodling really but the urge to produce new work is well and truly getting under my skin now and I am excited to start new projects in January.
I will of course keep you posted with snaps of progress.
For now though I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas x

December 2013

It's been a busy old time, the children's classes are booking up quickly, so if you are interested please let me know as soon as possible.
I have made a huge decision which cannot be revealed just yet but more news will flow in my next post.
I will be visiting a fantastic exhibition in January, it is already on at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, a friend of mine has already been and has recommended it highly. The drawings of Henry Moore are on show and they are exquisite so I cannot wait to go and see it.
I shall post pictures and a whole lot more information after my visit.
